Scoring, your way

Standard cornhole is cancellation scoring to 21: a bag in the hole is 3, on the board is 1, and only the difference each round counts. The Scoreholio scoreboard does the math — tap in each team's bags and the round score, game score and standings update instantly.

Score however fits your venue: the organizer can enter scores from the admin screen, a tablet at each board can run an interactive scoreboard in kiosk mode, or turn on Player Scoring so every team submits from their own phones. Remote Mode controls every connected scoreboard and TV from one place.

Turn on ScoreMagic™ to record every bag rather than just the round result — that is where the cornhole stats come from, on the leaderboard during the event and in each player's profile afterwards. Handicaps can be applied per player or team so mixed-skill fields stay competitive.

How to run a 24-player cornhole night

A Tuesday bar night: 24 players, six boards, no experience required. The setup Scoreholio recommends most often for a first event.

  1. 1

    Create the tournament

Sport: cornhole. Team generation: Switcholio. Boards: 6. Rounds: 5. Scoreholio builds every round's pairings and board assignments from that.

  2. 2

    Get players in

Share the pre-registration link so people sign up ahead of time, or check walk-ups in at the door by scanning their QR code.

  3. 3

    Start round one

Every player gets a push alert with their partner and board number. No whiteboard, no shouting names.

  4. 4

    Score the games

A tablet at each board, or Player Scoring from everyone's phones. Standings update live on the TV as games finish; the next round generates as soon as the last game ends.

  5. 5

    Split to a bracket

After five rounds, send the top 8 individual standings into a single-elimination bracket for the finish.

  6. 6

    Post the results

Standings, brackets and stats save to every player's profile automatically, and next week's event is one clone away.

Expect about 2 to 2½ hours: five 12–15 minute rounds plus a short bracket. The tournament time calculator in the docs tunes rounds to your board count.

Common questions

How many rounds should a 24-player cornhole tournament have?

For a rotating-partner (Switcholio) night, 5–6 rounds gives everyone plenty of different partners in about two hours on six boards, with the top 8 moving into a bracket. With fewer boards, drop a round or cap game length. The tournament calculator estimates total time from your player and board counts.

Can players keep their own partner?

Yes. Use Set Teams for pre-formed teams, Blind Draw for random fixed partners, or Switcholio if you want partners to rotate every round. All three run the same scoring and standings.

How do players score — do they need the app?

Three options: the organizer scores from the admin screen, tablets at each board run interactive scoreboards, or players score from their own phones with the free Scoreholio app (Player Scoring is part of the Competitive organizer level and up). Live standings show on any TV either way.

Does Scoreholio support cornhole handicaps?

Yes. Scoreholio's cornhole handicapping gives every player or team a fair shot regardless of skill level, so a mixed-skill bar league stays competitive.

What cornhole stats does it track?

With ScoreMagic™ scoring on, every bag is recorded: Points Per Round (PPR), In%, On% and Off%, plus game history and charts in each player's profile. Players also carry an SPR (Scoreholio Player Rating) that updates across events.

What does it cost to run a cornhole tournament?

The Social organizer level is free forever: round robins and brackets, digital scoreboards and dashboards, up to 8 boards and 32-team brackets. Competitive ($4.99/month) adds player phone scoring, game timers, custom alerts, live chat support and advanced stats; higher levels raise the board and bracket limits. Quick Tournaments (up to 16 players, 4 boards) are free for anyone with an organizer account. See pricing.
